Gabriella's research sits at the intersection of trade policy and public choice theory.
She is interested in how rent-seeking by concentrated interest groups shapes trade protection, and why certain policies persist long after their justifications have expired. She is also interested in how exchange fosters tolerance and peaceful cooperation, how trade raises real disposable income for ordinary households, and why free trade remains as relevant for wealthy economies as it does for developing ones.
